THE PROTECTION OF FREEDOMS ACT 2012

 

The Protection Of freedoms Act 2012 sets out clear policy for the destruction, retention and use of certain evidential material in connection with camera surveillance systems, providing a Code of Practice.

 

The Act predominantly covering the way that finger prints, footwear impressions, DNA samples and profiles are taken within the course of a criminal investigation, especially when handling evidence from a surveillance system.
